What Anna Watched Yesterday

So definitely watch the first Ouija before you watch the second. I'm pretty grossed out by all this Ouija stuff and boards and what not, but i must admit, after watching this during the day so i didn't get scared, was good!

Ouija: Origin of Evil is set in 1967, in LA, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to help their seance scam business by using a Ouija board that they find and encourage hopeless neighbours whom have lost loved ones to believe and hear messages beyond the grave but accidentally invite an authentic evil into their home. When the evil spirits target the youngest daughter Doris (Wilson), she soon becomes possessed and her family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send the spirits back to the other side.

Definitely a few jump out of your seat moments. The acting by the two young girls, Lulu Wilson and Annalise Basso is incredible. I'm definitely keeping my eyes peeled for more Lulu Wilson movies - cannot wait to see her in Annabelle 2!

Starring: Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Mara, Toby Jones

I was so excited when Morgan finally came out! 1 the trailer looked soooo good and 2 big fan of Anya Taylor-Joy, she was so amazing in The Witch.

Morgan (Taylor-Joy) is about a company that creates artificial humanoid beings. After many failed attempts they finally create Morgan. Morgan surprises her creators when she grows intellectually and physically extremely quickly, looking like a twelve year old at only age five. Some of Morgan's creators become completely involved with her as they treat her as their own child. A corporate troubleshooter, Lee (Mara) is sent to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident that occurs, Morgan attacks one of her creators by stabbing her in the eye in an educational lesson. Lee soon finds out that the event was triggered by something stirring up in Morgan as she presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.

Morgan is one of those movies where the trailer looks better than the actual movie. Another one of those movies that is so captivating and intriguing during the first hour and slowly dies off as it goes on - big twist at the end!

Starring: Kate Beckinsale, Lucas Till, Mel Raido

So a friend who is a big fan of scary movies, who goes to the actual cinema to watch them (something i just can NOT do, i'm a 'watch scary movies in broad daylight' kinda gal) was telling me about this movie. After watching some really good scary movies lately like Don't Breathe and Ouija 2, (reviews coming soon) i thought that 2016 was going really well until i watched The Disappointments Room.

Not sure if i like Kate Beckinsale as an actress - apart from Pearl Harbour because she was literally amaze in that, i certainly don't like her blonde.

So the Disappointments Room is about a family moving into a new home, a beautiful big home, with an architect in the family, they plan to make this their dream home. With the wife already having problems from grieving the loss of their daughter, Dana (Beckinsale) starts seeing things and having vivid nightmares, turns out the house is haunted with a room that isn't on the floor plan - shock horror - and that's about it. Scary shit happens, people die, they move out - the end. ugh bore.

The only good thing about this movie is the black german shepherd!

Starring: Jonah Hill, Miles Teller, Bradley Cooper

After a pretty casual Saturday, Rhys and i decided to get Vietnamese for dinner - so obsessed with Pho at the moment! We ate really early because i was starving then came home and sat down to watch War Dogs featuring some cheeky iced tea.

Jonah Hill MUST of been made to put on a shit load of weight for this role because he is gigantic. Absolutely gigantic. I feel like the poor soul just had to lose weight for Wolf of Wall Street and True Story!

Based on the true story of two young men, David Packouz (Teller) and Efraim Diveroli (Hill), who won a $300 million contract from the Pentagon to arm America's allies in Afghanistan during the height of the Bush administration's wars. The men sell firearms for a living which seems like it should be illegal but isn't.

Hill's performance is amazing, you can tell what his character is thinking when his eyes go cloudy and when he does his squeaky hilarious laugh!

It did go on for about 2.5 hours, at one point i did think it was going to end when it had an hour left however it still kept us captivated, recommended !

Starring: Emma Roberts, Dave Franco, Emily Meade, Juliette Lewis

Emma and Dave are so magical on screen together! EEEPPPP!

Nerve is about an online game where people pay to watch 'players' do dares for money. Dares can include stealing something, kissing a stranger, flashing the entire school etc etc. Vee (Roberts) is a little lost at school and is extremely shy compared to best friend Sydney (Meade) who plays Nerve and gets a whole new following becoming somewhat Nerve 'famous'. Vee decides one night so take a chance and try Nerve to prove to everyone she can live life on the edge. As she does she gets more and more involved and the Nerve watchers become obsessed with her and the dares get more and more serious - it becomes a little bit of a headache with an extremely dramatic ending!

I love how Dave Franco plays a more serious role in this compared to his usual 'funny girl' scene. His acting is getting better and better catching up to his famous brother.

Nerve kept us on our seats and wowed us till the end, i would recommend watching! i just love anything Emma is in, at the moment i am watching the second season of Scream Queens and she is just so amazing in it - stay tuned for that review :)
