TV SERIES - Orange Is The New Black

13:48

Creator: Jenji Kohan
Starring: Taylor Shilling, Danielle Brooks, Taryn Manning, Laura Prepon

Finally! Last night we finished Season 3! I was so happy to see Orange is The New Black after a year of waiting for this season the trailers leading up to the release were the biggest tease! Without ruining it for those who haven't seen/yet finished this season, it was so dark. I felt like LOTS of bad things happened and my emotions were running all over the place.

My favourite characters are Tasty and Morello, they make me laugh so much! I don't know how I feel about Piper now she's turned into a major prison gangsta. When I was in high school I was completely obsessed with Taryn Manning and her band BoomKat, I had to see every movie she was in. Taryn Manning plays Tiffany Doggett, a crack loving weirdo. You find out more about her personal story and it is really really sad. Season 3 also stars Australian Ruby Rose, who is known here for her DJ/Presenting skills. She looks amazing/has a resemblance to Justin Bieber, but her acting skills are still a little rough. She's the first actress that has made me warm to the Australian accent against the Amercian.

The ending has left a huge cliffhanger, well multiple cliffhangers now we have to wait until Season 4 which is said to be released June 2016 - waaaaaaaahhh! However, the last 5 minutes of the last episode left you feeling warm and fuzzy inside seeing each characters true personality.

Cinderella

12:22

Director: Kenneth Branagh
Starring: Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Helena Bonham Carter

I'm sorry I haven't blogged for a little while, I've been super busy with wedding plans and finishing watching Orange is The New Black (stay tuned for review tomorrow!).

Last Wednesday State of Origin was on so Rhys went to his parents house while I stayed in and watched Cinderella in my dressing gown with my electric blanket and central heating on - it is still like an igloo in my freezing cold house. I had been holding out to watch it since my girlfriends from the UK were over bragging about it in April!

Lily James is stunningly beautiful in her acting skills and it was good to see Australian Cate Blanchett in a new movie. Obviously any movie with Helena Bonham Carter in it is fabulously brilliant!

Lily James plays Ella, a kind, blonde, beautiful girl who is adored by her doting parents and lives a wonderful life until her mother gets ill and sadly dies. Her father then meets another wife (Blanchett) who comes along with her two evil daughters and takes over her dearly beloved house. When Ella's father unexpectedly passes away she finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother however her fortunes begin to change when she meets a dashing young stranger who she doesn't know yet is the PRINCE (Madden, his teeth are super white and charming).

I was happy that the story stayed true to the original and the special effects were amazing! The ending cracked me up, they've known/met each other twice but yet are crazy in love and get married - oh Disney I do love you.

Jurassic World

14:02

Director: Colin Trevorrow
Starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, Lauren Lapkus

I had hit a little too much wine on Saturday night at a friends engagement party which left me feeling only a tiny bit rough Sunday morning. After attempting to clean the house, Rhys and I decided that going out for lunch and going to the movies would make us feel better. After my delicious vegetarian linguine, we made the 12:45pm session to see Jurassic World (even though I kept calling it Jurassic Park) in extreme screen. I was so excited - I love dinosaurs and am a huge fan of the original.

Jurassic World is a brand new, fully functioning, dinosaur theme park twenty-two years on from the original. The rides are so cool, pact with an invisible round ball thing you can go in and view dinosaurs up close in, a dinosaur show with sharks as bait (what you would see killer whales and seals do in our world). However, after ten years of operation and visitor rates declining they decide to create a hybrid, a brand new creation of dinosaur as a new attraction - the Indonimus Rex.

Obviously creating a dinosaur with snake DNA, shark DNA, lizard DNA and raptor DNA mm not the best idea. They create an extremely surprisingly intelligent dinosaur who only knows killing as a sport. The Indominus Rex takes over the theme park bit by bit destroying it as it goes putting its 20,000 visitors in danger.

Chris Pratt is awesomely bad-ass with his acting skills taking a new high playing a more serious role. Jurassic World also features Jake Johnson (Nick from New Girl) and Lauren Lapkus (Susan Fisher from Orange is The New Black) in geeky, cute roles.

Jurassic World doesn't beat the original but is crazy good for a sequel. I didn't want it to end!

Project Almanac

15:11

Director: Dean Israelite
Starring: Jonny Weston, Sofia Black-D'Elia, Sam Lerner, Allen Evangelista, Virginia Gardner

I desperately wanted to watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days last night but Rhys was not impressed! So Project Almanac it was!

I'm not going to write a huge spiel on this one as I'm still unsure of how I feel about it. It took a little while to get into but basically the whole movie revolves around students making a time machine and becoming successful it getting it to work. They all travel together back to Lollapalooza (which is pretty awesome) and buy VIP tickets off Ebay the day after, so when they travel back the tickets are still valid - probably the best part of the movie.

Things go good, they go back in time to win the lottery, they stopped being bullied, they change their love lives etc. but things go bad after one of them travels back in time alone and then everything goes back to the start uuuuuuuuuuughhh. - very happy I did not see this in the cinema. Not to mention the whole film is filmed from a camera they carry around with them, do not see this if you get travel sickness, it definitely hurts at the start.

She's Funny That Way

14:13

Director: Peter Bogdanovich
Starring: Imogen Poots, Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson, Rhys Ifans, Kathryn Hahn

After what felt like a really long week but was only a short week at work, when Friday night came around I was pooped! It was absolutely freezing in our house, as it always is for some crazy reason (I am really not coping well with having central heating on all night and neither is our bank account) so after dinner I jumped straight into bed - actually I jumped into bed with dinner.

She's Funny That Way got my attention when I saw Jennifer Aniston in it, obviously everything she stars in is just fabulous and Rhys Ifans just cracks me up taking me back to Notting Hill days. Kathryn Hahn from Step Brothers "I wan't to curl you up and place you into my vagina" I thought it would be super funny!

The movie starts with Imogen Poots character Izi/Isabella Patterson in the middle of an interview talking about her life. You soon find out that Izi is a prostitute/call girl who is trying to save some money to get into acting. One night Izi is sent on a job to a hotel to meet with Derek (Wilson). They go to dinner and all that jazz, but after an intimate session in le bedroom, Derek asks Izi to stop being a call girl and pursue her dreams of being an actress and he will give her $30k to help her on her way! Izi obviously accepts and goes to an agent to become an actress. Her first audition is for a play about a call girl - haha perfect! When she arrives to the audition the director is Derek, who is married to Delta who is also starring in the play (Hahn).

The story goes on in all different directions involving all types of characters but in most parts is really funny. Jennifer Aniston's character make me laugh so so sooooo much, I just love her. An annoying part is the fact that Imogen Poots who is English has a Brooklyn accent the whole way through - little bit frustrating but must admit she does do it well.
